5 Stars! HOME COMPANION, 2.0 blew me away. It’s a cautionary
tale for our times, advising that maybe our reliance on
Artificial Intelligence isn’t always a good thing. In any
case, Francesca Dumonte, is determined to rescue her brother who
has been captured by agents for AI--or NI, Natural Intelligence,
as the computer likes to be called. Great foreshadowing here.
Francesca infiltrates AI’s offices as an android--a Mata Hari
type of situation. Her “master” is Valliant Smith, the best
of the best of Humanity... or so he believes, anyway. Romance
slowly blossoms, but she has to keep her eye on her
goal--rescuing her brother. No spoilers here, but the twist at
the end is not to be missed. Discover this gem for yourself!--Twist

5 Stars! A farewell party at instructor Gwendolyn Scott’s
college suddenly turns into a farewell for her--a farewell to
the twenty-first century. Instead of dealing with jaded college
students, she finds herself in the company of tenant farmers,
Hereford cows, and a pugnacious pug. The why of it concerns an
ancient crystal relic and an enormous stone head of the Roman
god Neptune. The how of it has something to do with a jealous
fellow instructor. Gwen very admirably adjusts to the year 1819,
however when everyone addresses her as a mystic, she becomes persona
non grata with the lord of the manor, Nigel, the Marquess of
Sheffield. He threatens her with eviction, and a laugh-out loud
moment occurs when the adorable dog comes to her rescue. Ms.
Knight weaves another excellent time-travel Regency with a
diverse cast of characters including the irascible sea god

the pieces of her life, Tricia returns to her old neighborhood.
While some things have stayed the same, a great many things are
different, proving that you can never go home again. Minding her

smashed by a rogue air conditioner, shot at, nearly run over,
